Losing my closest Friend

Goodbye my old friend. You have been so faithful these last twenty years. There have been ups and downs, and you were always there, hugging me.

I don’t even remember how we met. I’m sure you were amongst so many others who could also have been as perfect a match as you, but you had a certain je-ne-sais-quoi I couldn’t resist.

You never judged me, you adapted to all my changes, within your limits. I never let you fulfil your hole potential even though it came really close.

You probably felt I was pressuring you too much sometimes and you sure buckled up!

If I had to start over, we would probably never meet. But we can’t change the past. There is just not enough space around me for you anymore.

Know that I liked you the way you were. I will not punch you another eye, you deserve better than this!

It’s not you, it’s me. I’ll find others to hold me back but you will not be forgotten. I am letting you go.

Goodbye my leathery friend!

  1. Is it funny how inanimate objects kind of travel the journey WITH us?

  2. HAHAHAHA...*snort*...HAHAHAHA It's that type of post. A snort-laughing type :) Some friends are toxic and we need to get rid of them. I'm sure your trusty friend will find someone else to hug :)

    1. My friend is retired now, it started to show its age. I tried to find an anti-aging cream but it will not have solved problem number 1... pants need some support or it could get really uncomfortable outside :)

    1. Thanks Jan, it's a bit like a soap TV show, sometimes its humor, sometimes it's dramatic, but at least, no one die! :)

  7. Well, I guess it's always nice to have a spare belt to...I dunno, tie up hostages? Beat up kids? Oh my goodness, THROW THAT THING AWAY!

    1. My dear daughter, when I die you can have the belt! As a mater of fact, don't wait for my passing, you can have it right now, just send me a check for 19.95$ and I'll send it to you. It's a special for you because you are my own child, anyone else it would be 29.95$ and that would be one time offer only. ha ha ha

  8. Oh, when I saw the picture I thought it was a dog collar. I was reading the whole post thinking your pet had died. Sad. So glad it's just a belt!
