Stupid is as Stupid does

Let me wear my stupid hat right now. Tuesday it was a nice sunny day. While walking in the morning I came up with my very own smart idea: “Christiane do you want to go to the beach?” I asked my wife. “Sure” she answered.

I didn’t tell her my “secret” plan… In January, we went to the beach and I got a sunburn. Because of my size, I had some areas where I didn’t burned.

So what I really wanted to see this time around is if I get another sunburn, how much more area would get burned?

When we got to the beach, I didn’t apply any sun screen cream, I sat facing the sun, and waited for the burning to go on.

Have you ever noticed how hard it really is to tell when you are getting a sunburn while at the beach? I did so well in my test that I over did it! The way I look at it, I was successful, too successful indeed!

When we got back home and I looked in the mirror, I thought oh that’s going to hurt! I was right! I can be soooo smart sometimes predicting the future and all…

Tuesday night was terrible, I was cold because of the sunburn but I couldn’t put on a blanket because of the sunburn…

Wednesday I “forgot” about my whole day of training. This was the first day I was inactive in 2 months. To me, there are only 2 good reasons to miss a training day: 1. I’m hurt 2. I planned it 3. Stupidity. I’ll let you figure out which two are the good reasons.

Thursday I trained and reached my goals, I was still sore but I was not ready to let go.

My new mantra is: Sun screen cream is my friend (I repeat it 10 times every day). And I know that stupid is as stupid does.

Look at that it’s Easter weekend, is anyone thinking of going to the beach?

  1. Ouch! That looks horribly painful. It looks like you're learned a lesson...the hard way. On the plus side, it is remarkable how much weight you have lost in such a short time. The contrast between the two photos is amazing. You should take great pride in that. All your hard work is certainly paying off.

    Oh, the beach...don't I wish!

    1. Indeed I am really proud, and it's still a long way to go!

Learned a lesson... yes! I will never do that again LOL

  2. So, even if it wasn't the best plan, it is clear that you have lost weight. That is a good thing. And, since you have such a strong memory peg, with the sunburn, you'll remember how far you've come.

  4. Oh goodness ! That doesn't look comfortable - now if you had been in parts of the UK today you would have needed an umbrella !

Hope you feel more comfortable soon

    All the best Jan

  5. That is pretty funny! And silly. But you have definitely lost weight.

Next time you get sunburnt (accidentally only!) it will be your muscular pecs that block the sun from that strip, and you will have a neat white outline of your ab muscles.

  7. Couldn't you have seen results if it was a tan and not BURNT to a crisp? Either way, great job on the weight loss. Not so great job on hurting yourself (by burning yourself).

    1. Yes Ivy I could have seen the same results but that would not nave been blogging news worthy :)

This is the last time I do that... unless I forget! But thank you for caring enough to tell me (I am not sarcastic).
